 Where to buy reeds?
Author: Curinfinwe
Date:   2008-12-16 19:02

Is there somewhere I can order Vandoren 56 2.5 reeds that is fast and cheap? My local music store doesn't stock them, so I have to order them in, and they're expensive.

I just looked at http://1stopclarinet.stores.yahoo.net/newvan56ruel.html
they are $21.99. In my experience (always good) I received my reeds within 5 days.
Good luck,
Jim

I have bought reeds at 1stop for a while and have always found great prices and service. The shipping has been quick as well.

I believe the cheapest I've seen them is on www.samash.com
they also claim to be fast.

I order from wiener music. http://www7.mailordercentral.com/frederichweinerinc/

I actually don't even know if they're the cheapest or not...I just have always loved their service. :)

I either order from 1stopclarinet or from muncywinds.com both have GREAT service. (and, muncy is one of those only places where I've found the new Rigotti gold reeds I've started to love)

My Setup:
R13 Clarinet (Ridenour Lyrique as my backup/marching instrument)
Walter Grabner K11 mouthpiece
Rico Reserve 3.5's
Bonade ligature

Rigottis for the win! Seriously though, I can't seem to find them anywhere except for Muncy... they used to be sold on WWBW, but they seem to have stopped carrying the clarinet ones.

For that reason alone, I usually buy through Muncy. I've had nothing but great service from them.

I also use 1stop. They are great. My orders always arrive within three days (unless I order on a sunday or something). They have great prices and come in handy when you buy a lot of reeds.
