how can I identify a Buffet R13? Somebody told his clarinet is a R13 but I couldn't find Letters or digits on it, except Buffet ...

Do you know the age or serial number of the clarinet?
If it's a fairly recent Buffet, both the barrel and bell will have R13 stamped on the back (something like 'R13 B 660' on the barrel, and 'R13 B' on the bell).

Seems to me all this proves is that the barrel and bell are R13. Proves nothing whatever about the upper and lower joints.

On recent Buffets the R13 isn't marked as such (on the top joint), but the RC is - so if it says RC on the top joint but R13 on the back of the bell and barrel then I'd ask for a refund or find out where the joints have been mixed up.
If it has an R13 top joint and RC bottom joint, then the serial numbers won't match. So there's always a way to find out.
And Prestige joints have metal tipped tenons (that's if a Prestige bottom joint gets mixed into the equation), so that's another giveaway.
