Hi
What type of information would you put in a CV when applying for an a professional orchestral job?

most importantly, your name, your instrument, your contact info, your professional orchestra experience (if none, then student stuff)
less importantly, audition success (e.g. finals or semi-finals of a big orchestra), chamber music (highlights), competition success, principal teachers/schooling, conductors you've worked with

My resume also has repertoire; orchestral and solo. I've listed it by orchestra, the position I played, date, & conductor.
What are you applying for?

Be sure to include references: important teachers, eminent musicians: conductors, composers etc. Check with your references so that they know you have cited them.

Perhaps in Australia it's different, but in the U.S. resumes/CVs are restricted to a page for a pro orchestra job, so listing repertoire is usually at the expense of something more relevent. To get a job, you have to have familiarity with almost all the standard repertoire anyway, so repertoire becomes irrelevant.

In Australia, and probably anywhere, a resume and CV are different things: a CV is usually one page and is very much a summary, while a resume goes into much more detail. I've never gone for a pro job but I've gone for 'normal' jobs and some want a resume and some want a CV. I assume when a pro orchestral position is going, they'll specify?

Morrigan this is for the principal job in Adelaide.
They asked me for a CV.
I think I've covered most things that people said here.
Thanks for the help!
