 The Passing Bell

I recently played a piece called "The Passing Bell" by Warren Benson, and I must say, it was truly an amazing piece. But, IF any of you played this piece, did you take the high A's out? It asked for the very high A to be Pianississimo.. Kind of interesting. But such powerful music. If you did play it share your attitude toward it please, great piece!

We read through this piece in my wind ensemble. We did take out the high A's. We ended up not performing it because it required so many clarinets. We were having to pull from people in marching band to cover the parts. From what I heard, it was a great piece, though.

It was good at the end, but I didn't care too much for the first page. Very poewrful piece though.
