I was listening to a CD of Emma Johnson playing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A, K622, and thought her sound was quite lovely. A bit of Googling revealed she plays a Peter Eaton clarinet.

I searched the archives on this BBoard and didn't find any reviews of these clarinets. What can anybody tell me about them (over and above what's on the Eaton website)?

OK, I see it now. When I entered my original string on the search bar, the only option that was checked was to search the woodwind.org web page, and not the rest of the sites. Total oversight on my part. Sorry for the post.

I second that. A Peter Eaton Clarinet is second on my list of things to buy when I turn 18 and win the lotto. #1 on the list is a Buffet 1193 Prestige Bass Clarinet to Low C.

My experience of International model:
Wonderful intonation, and a beautiful complex tone, unmatched by the major brands.
Personally though I could not get on with the key layout, which I found far less easy under the fingers than R13/ 10G models - I guess you get used to this if you stick with it long enough, or have been a Boosey 10-10 player (the layout is just about identical).
It is far heavier than any other clarinet I have ever played, which is fine, but worth knowing.
Overall, I preferred my 10G, simply because it felt more comfortable and was consequently quicker to navigate.
