Would any of you experienced players recommend sending a clarinet to one of these techs from a significant distance in order to diagnose and repair a problem? As I reported in a previous post, I have an elusive problem which only appears during extreme heat. Two techs in this area have attempted repairs, apparently without success, and I would like to get the problem resolved. Is sending a horn long distance for repair something that people typically do?

Send the horn to Jimmy, he's the best.
Tell him what you feel is wrong. He'll find what else ails the horn himself.
He often does repairs sent from out of town.
Tell him I told you to send it, and mention my name (he'll probably charge you double...just kidding!)

Thanks, John. It is obviously an elusive problem and I need the best.
I don't know whether you had read my thread on heat/humidity, but it turns out my other clarinet, sent out for repair to Boston's finest, has spent the past three or four weeks in the rep's car. Unbelievable. So Jimmy may be getting two of my horns.
I appreciate your help.
