Get a long thin knitting needle, just a little smaller than the top end of the bore. Wind the knitting needle with cotton thread just as you would when making a reed.
Advanatage:
The knitting needle makes a quick cleaner if you get water buildup and there isn't time in the rests for the silk swab.
