Hmm... I may apply water-proof substances to my reeds and see how they like that!

Again, I envision... soak the suckers in extra virgin olive oil (I still do not fully comprehend the concept of extra virgin... seems like qualifying an absolute.)

But I digresss,

soak the suckers, then water proof them... then they should be pre-soaked and ready to play even when dry!
