Practice your E major scale.... a lot. Go slowly at first. Definitely use left hand -flat/d-sharp.
Holding both the left-hand e-flat and c-sharp keys at the same time requires the mechanism adjustment betwen them is properly set.
To test that play the left-hand e-flat ( 2nd octave) and hold the note. Then keep playing and touch the c-sharp key with your right hand. If the note does not change (get weak or loose focus) with the c-sharp key depressed its probably OK. Then you can use the technique where both keys are down at the same time ( c# to d# trill).
I would suggest doing the E major scale using seperate and combined fingering styles. Its good to be able to diit both ways.
After you can do that, try the E major scale in thirds...e, g#, f#, a, g#, b, ...
Do that going up and down the scale. It really reinforces the need for the left-hand d# key.
