Author: super20bu6  Date:   2014-02-09 17:55 oboi-I had no other Yamaha with which to compare....and I didn't notice the sound when I was playing it. mjfoboe-while Leroy Anderson may be pleased.....I'm not about to use this oboe as a typewriter......lol chris P-sorry...but no bell ring on the Yamaha...and I do NOT plan on using the Patricola's bell ring as a substitute!!!! And if anyone is interested, I had musician friends listen to me playing the Patricola versus the Yamaha......no clear winner. They both fit my hands well and are a dream to play...even for a person returning to the instrument after many years off. My "arsenal" has now increased with the addition of both the Patricola and the Yamaha...and couldn't be happier with the two of them.
