The Oboe BBoard

It's well over a year now, and the oboe was never found or recovered. The perpetrators weren't sent to the guillotine, but they ended up in jail after committing another offense the following day. The restitution that was ordered for the value of the oboe might be a long time coming for Marika, she thinks, given their situation. What pains her most is to think that her instrument has most likely ended up destroyed - if someone else somewhere was playing it, no matter who they were or in what situation then that would be easier to accept.
So the project we did together was one of the last things done on her Marigaux; a CD of chamber works all including oboe (http://muse.blumlein.net/021_gb.html). I co-produced it with Dominique Enon, himself an oboist; he was recently interviewed on French radio (France Inter) talking about his career in the gendarmerie where he has often taken his oboe with him on various missions to various parts of the world. Here is the archived link for that particular broadcast: http://sites.radiofrance.fr/franceinter
