The previous replies give the most likely diagnosis.

Having identified the correct screw adjust it only very slightly - only a few degrees - it is very easy to overdo it especially if you have cork pads. A good way to test for even closing of the pads to to get a strip of cigarette paper, put it between the ring finger key & the hole & pull it out noticing the resistance. Then close the same key with the same pressure but with the paper under the small vent key. When you feel the same resistance from both keys it will correctly adjusted. If the lower pressure reduces you have gone too far! This assumes that the pads are seated correctly - if you don't get a sensible result it's time to find your favourite technician!
