 tonguing and reeds
Author: jrestes

I know that it is difficult to offer suggestions without actually having a reed in hand, but I was hoping to get some ideas to try on my reeds . . .

I have been making reeds fairly differently lately and loving the results. Basically, leaving alot more cane of the reed (especially the spine, although there is no bark). The result has been better low notes, high notes, and the softer end dynamically has been improved.

However, I seem to be having trouble tonguing on these reeds. they seem to be stuck slowly articulating, and occasionally will have a somewhat muffled sound. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
