I'm just wondering what combinations of fingers people use when dealing with altissimo Eb to either E or F.
I mostly use short fingerings so it's not an issue for me, but I always teach long fingerings to my students first. I have a student currently working through AMEB grades who now needs to do a chromatic up to E. Given it's exam technical work, I've advised that he needs to use the long fingerings. Currently I'm having him use the standard long Eb: 1/2 XXB|0XX and then adding RH G# and Eb to get to the E which is working but it seems so cumbersome. Any other options besides short fingerings?
If it makes a difference, he is currently playing on a newish Buffet intermediate model (has 3rd 8ve).
