I live in Oklahoma where it's humid, but next month I'm going to dry and airid Colorado for a week. I'd like to take my oboe, but do I need to be concerned with the humidity/weather changes? I wont *need* my oboe in Colorado, but I'd like to be able to play for family and also practice if I have time. Do I need to take any precautions against my oboe cracking? It's times like this (not very often) that I wish I had a plastic oboe.
Which brings up another question I have.... Do you play your wood oboes outside? Or is that something that shouldn't be of any concern?
