 3rd Octave Key...Does it help with middle notes too? >>>

I've read that it helps to tune and help the higher notes past high C (is this correct?) but does it help clarify and tune other notes for example; B, Bb, A, and G?

I don't play any notes higher than a high C, maybe a high D...Do I need an oboe with the 3rd octave key? If it helps for the notes mentioned, then I would consider one w/ that but if not, it may not be needed in my case.
