Hi everyone,
I'm a new beginner oboist! I'm 29 and have wanted to take up the oboe for ages, but have been held back by health problems. I have chronic respiratory disease caused by quite bad scoliosis (curvature of the spine) so my lungs only function at 47%. I'm hoping that playing the oboe will help me to make the most of the lungpower that I have
Over the past couple of weeks I've taught myself stuff from the Tune A Day for Oboe book, and have just had my first lesson with a fabulous teacher who is a professional oboist (she's even been guest principal oboe at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra here in London!).
Nice to meet you all!!
