WRT Tom Puwalski's comment "it Rocks" - Amen. I have a Stephen Fox C and it is Great Fun. Still using my B flat, though, because I don't want to relearn everything.
Kurt Bjorling said to get the Naftule Brandwine CD, and memorize any three tunes on your C instrument complete with ornamentation. If you aren't having a stellar time, put the C on the shelf. My shelf is collecting dust.
Not familiar with the AKG - this is something to look up. I mostly use an Shure SM58 on a stand clip (this is not an ideal.) I also have a Barcus-Berry pickup glued in a mouthpiece (had to have my electronics wizard make this work - also not ideal but useful in windy conditions or if I want to feed my sound into an effects processor.)
