I own both an Eb and a C clarinet. From time to time, I'll get a call from someone to see if they could borrow either or both of those horns for a special orchestra or opera gig.
Since I usually know the people asking, I am happy to do it as a favor, and don't charge them anything I'm happy the horns are getting played. I just ask that they are returned not broken.
Do you lend out your horns? Do you charge? And if you do, how much and how did you arrive at that figure?

I'm starting a new policy, no lend outs. You may get more gigs since you might be the only one around with the instruments. It will ruffle the feathers of the guys you currently lend to, but you gotta eat.
What Eb do you have? I'm looking to purchase one, do u know anything about the E11 or R13? Thanks.

A few times, I've brought an instrument to rehearsal so that someone could use it for that session while their instrument was being repaired. But that's it. Nothing I have is unusual enough to warrant borrowing.
