Half-hole C# is not a good note, and many oboes seem to have problems there. It is often to do with the vertical diamond-shaped slit in the half-hole well.

I'm going to assume, also, that you roll your LH index finger to expose the half-hole, or that if you lift your finger, the key is fully screwed down.

Does your half-hole key have a vertical slit in it, or has it been completely drilled out? I have seen oboes where general woodwind technicians have drilled out the hole, thinking it was some sort of manufacturing error!

In fact, the LH index-finger half-hole MUST have a vertical slit of some type. Getting this slit just right is more of an art than a science. The technician I work with has a specially crafted tool for adjusting the width of the slit, and that was how he resolved a similar problem I was having with my Loree.

A pro oboe technician should be able to resolve this issue for you.
