If you are ok with a used oboe, give hannahs oboe (hannahsoboe.com) a try.

I bought a used Loree from her and got excellent service as well as a decent price. most important was the after purchase service and before purchase assistance she gives.

She will send out oboes to you on a trial basis so you can actually play before you buy - very important for any oboe, used OR new, or for that matter any musical instrument.

i don't play the oboe but i bought one for my daughter
