I only know that each company has their own ideas on crooks - that's the material (brass, nickel silver, solid silver or gold) and the thickness of the metal, and if they're plated (in silver or gold) or left unplated.
Though I'd suspect most makers of French style cors base their crook design (especially in the bore shape) on Loree crooks.
It's always a personal thing, but the supplied crooks are always the best place to begin with when getting used to a particular cor, and if you settle with the stock crooks then that's both time and money saved.
