I just thought I'd try these staples out since I have a DM bore. Usually I use Stephen staples (#2) or the Chudnow metal staples (which work great while in the desert climate). I was wondering if anyone else has had any of these "problems".
I know its a different staple...different mandrel, but i notice my upper register is extremely flat, i have to lip a good amount up to keep the pitch steady. Also, I notice the tone to be a little more flared that I would like to. I do not know if it is the staple being more fit to the entire bore of the oboe allowing it to be blown more freely or what?
I was wondering what anyone else's thoughts were on the DM staples.
