The most popular covered hole thumbplate system oboe with students in the UK which will last you for a long time is a Howarth S20:

Above that, the S20c, S40c and S45c are dual system (conservatoire system with an added thumbplate) which means you now have a duplicate G# key (the side key) and RH fingerplate 1 operates the Bb and C (duplicates the thumbplate action as the side key does on a thumbplate system). The S40c and S45c have almost everything found on a pro model.
