I would *guess* that the left F was put into use a fair while ago, as it is just a simple mechanism that lifts the F key. The f-resonance however, has to fit into the tangling maze of keys on the right side of the middle joint, so I would say that it probably wasn't introduced until later. I'm not sure of any specific dates, as I don't really think there are any.
