I find I can use the tape to influence the opening smaller or larger.
Training the cane is an interesting concept, too. Actually, I have noticed if I tape a leak, I can remove the tape a couple days later and the cane seems to have closed completely, but sometimes I leave it on to 'open' the tip a bit.
Kerry Willingham, who I mentioned in earlier parts of this thread is now offering a lighted plaque... just recently showed up on his web site.
