I have a plastic top joint Royal so water seems to spurt up in my oboe like a spring. I had the aqua nix installed and it did two major things.

1. It obviously cleared up the water in my first octave (I only had one installed). This is great, considering I had a terrible time previously. Occasionally I have a bit of water in it here and there if I'm practicing on and off for 4 or 5 hours, but one blow of cigarette paper and it clears up for a long while.
2. It changes the air path in the oboe for the better. Not sure how to describe it, other than it focuses the air better in the bore. Interesting...

If you do get one installed, tell Mr. Weber I recommended it.
