Re: Covey - Which to choose?

I play a traditional Covey circa 1986 and it still plays very well. I had a choice of a very good recent Loree AK and Royal model this past summer, but my old Covey won out and I kept it instead.

The talk of oboes blowing out does concern me a bit and even with 4 years off oboe around 1990 to go into a new career, that means I've play the Covey hard for 16 years.

Anyway, just last week I contacted Covey to get on a list for oboes coming available in late Feb. Ginger Ramsey sent a note saying she thought both models might be available at the same time for trial.

I am so happy with the traditional model I have I won't be disappointed if I don't get to compare it to the Classic, but at the same time would definitley like to try it out.
