Re: A Sample of a Plastic and Wood?

I am playing on a plastic top joint Loree Royal and two weekends ago I got together with some other oboists who had wood Lorees. Nobody could tell the difference just by sound which one was the plastic top joint, although because the top joint doesn't change from the first day (when it's manufactured) until the last day (when someone tucks it into an attic an forgets about it), it feels very tight, like a new instrument would. This can be a good thing, or a bad thing depending on how your reeds are designed of course.
