I've been playing for about four years, and I am doing my grade 7 exam in a few weeks, and grade 8 sometime next year.

The strings are all of about grade 6-8 Royal Schools-but there are a few exceptionally good players.

I was asked to perform because I won the 3-4th form music competition (playing the cimarosa-a great performance piece!), each year the winner of the previous years competition plays at the finals of the current years competition with the school's orchestra while the judges are deciding the winner, so I would be playing in the middle of next year sometime.

I was thinking maybe a movement from some Vivaldi or Marcello- probably something baroque, most of the stuff written later for oboe and string orchestra like the Vaughn Williams would probably be a bit too ambitious :-)
