 Re: Bass Oboe Vs. Heckelphone?

I suppose bass oboes are rare beasts and the chances of having all the major makes in one place at any one time to make direct comparisons is going to be pretty slim.

But there's always hope!

There was an older Loree bass doing the rounds a while back, and built to low Bb as well! And at the factory there's an ancient rosewood Cabart bass which has had all manner of things done to it over time (toneholes bushed or moved around, keywork alterations, etc.), but regrettably not all for the better.

1998 - 2010

The opinions I express are my own.
