That was pretty harsh considering the excellent advice presented. How do you think the pros we've all come to respect and envy got to their stellar level of playing? Probably by devolting a large amount of their "life" to whatever instrument they play. By putting in that many hours, they have made oboe their job. If making that much of a commitment to the oboe frightens you, maybe you shouldn't "go to college for oboe". Just a thought though...

Clayton - who practices for several hours on oboe while also pursuing a music degree with an emphasis on clarinet because it is something he enjoys doing.
