 EH, new vs used...

Hello all,

I am in an interesting situation in regards to my hunt for an english horn. I had decided that I do not want to pay 7600 dollars for a new loree EH (double case) a while back, and tomarrow I am going to play a pair or used loree's, both about 15 years old (late 80's, early 90's), and both about 5500 dollars (double case). When I bought my greenline a year or so ago I had a simular situation, used loree vs new greenline... it is now, used loree EH vs. new Fosatti artiste EH...

Now we have to assume each instrument has not been cracked and is in like new condition, 100% mechanically sound. I like the sound of both instruments, but favor the loree a bit compared to the fosatti, but they are close. Assuming the price is the same, then how do you decide...?

And yes I do know the loree does not have a warrenty...
