I recently destroyed my non-coated weight swab so I guess I will have to try in the future. I nearly got the coated one stuck. For now, I have an oddly long-corded microfibre generic oboe swab. I pull as much as it can go (tail is in the bell), then dismantle. The EH silk swab then goes into the top joint.

On a related matter, I am debating between the Hercules and K&M bassoon stands. It's highly unstable on the K&M EH and Loree EH stand, so I need a permanent solution.
