A cor bocal will not fit due to the cork. Without the cork, maybe, but why would you destroy the cork which would cost a bit to recork. Bocals are really expensive, too.
A baroque oboe staple without its thread wrap would fit I suppose. I wouldn't buy a baroque reed to test this, though.
If you want a super long staple, you can buy staple inserts. You can buy the set of 5 and keep on inserting rings.
Your multiphonics could be a result of the gap left from pulling the staple out, though, so if you just extend the staple maybe you won't get the same effect.
