Jayne, as well as suspecting it is an instrument problem, also consider that it could be a reed or embouchure problem, espeically if it has just started happening suddenly. When I first started playing, this was often an issue, and it was often the C. My teacher said that I anticipated that I was going to have problems with the note, and my embouchure subconsciously tightened, and occasionally it can be that they reed you are usaing could be out of balance. I suspect Chris P is right though and it is an instrument issue.
