Sorry to resurrect a sad thread, but I thought some might be interested in William Bennett's family history, which I just learned about, by chance.
Mr. Bennett's father was a passionate and very accomplished amateur clarinet player. He was also a distinguished professor of physics at Yale. There are warm stories about his love of music in this link, and elsewhere on the web:
