I'm planning on buying a mack-pfeiffer shaper tip. I'd like to avoid spending about $250 on a new one, but I could find no on-line site selling used ones. Does anyone know of a vender who sells used shaper tips?
I'll spend the $250 (includes shipping and tax) if I have to--just seems like a lot, and I have to buy a $100 (or so) handle as well. I don't want to rely on my source for shaped cane forever.

Used shaper tips are generally not sold in a large variety, and the Mack tips can be expensive and hard to find used. You could try out the RDG tips. The RDG -1 tip (which I use) is a pretty good tip.

I would check with Jim Mason up in Canada. I bought my gouger secondhand from him, and he has multiple used tips listed on his website, but the shaper tip section hasnt been updated since January, so it wouldnt hurt to shoot him an email and see if he has what you want!

I guess the RDG-1 would be the closest I could get in dimensions for the lowest price. I may look into it. Right now though, I'm going to get the shaper tip with the dimensions I'm used to working with.
