Telemann plus Bach 147 plus Handel Water Music and a Handel organ concerto, all on an upcoming chamber concert. Rehearsals start Sunday night. I'm in a panic regarding the endurance, double tonguing and circular breathing required for this!!
After lots of reedwork and practice, I discovered that the instrument used makes a huge difference, too. Yesterday with my Loree Royale, I had a good practice day. Today with my backup Loree AK (non-Royale), it was a completely different story!! My double tonguing (many measures of "active" 16ths at quarter = 132) is really inconsistent. I'm very frustrated. And hoping for permission to slur!
Any words of wisdom or consolation?

I used to live in Schaumburg ^_^
I think for the Wassermusik I would rather single tongue at 132. Much easier that way (for me).

What a relief. Permission granted for slurring Telemann's fast and lengthy 16th note passages! Hallelujah!
Now the concert will "just" be an endurance challenge, which by itself, I will survive. Bach's Jesu choruses will move along at a faster clip than we figured on, so that's good news, too. Now, if we could just do away with that big repeat of nearly the entire Telemann Water Music overture......

I played Jesu with a chorus once and found that there was no good place for a breath. While I can do circular breathing, I do not prefer it and just breathed in some inconvenient places. Good luck.
