Interesting... you have asked the same question I needed to ask, but it's about the vent on the middle, LEFT hand key. I, too, have slightly small hands.

My LeBlanc/Cabart Cor is in the shop trying to fix a couple of instabilities, and when demoing the issues, the tech noticed that I have problems consistently covering this vent especially on high A and Bb. Of course, it sounds like heck when I slip... but it happens when rocking my hand for the 2nd octave key. We noted that the octave key has been mashed down, so fixing that is first and maybe we can keep the hand movement in check.

Anyway, any pros/cons to taping this particular vent shut? I'll probably try it anyway, but hopefully the wiser heads here can shed some light on it.
