Maybe I'm saying this wrong but when I look at the reed from the top, I see the two sides of the tip a little bent towards one direction. And this is when I am staring down on the reed so that I can see through from tip to the tube if that makes sense.its only the very edges bent upwards or a direction that keeps causing the reed to fray and chip. Also when I'm still only a student so I don't make my own reeds. I buy them from Texas oboe reeds the student deluxe and intermediate reeds. And also I know soaking the reeds in warmer water is better but at school I don't have access to warm water so I only have cold water to soak my reeds in. Is that okay?
