First, can you ask the director for his recommendations on fixing the oboe? The school really should repair it as it is their property. The Wichita Band store can do it very well but they would be costly.

What does your director recommend for the purchase of reeds? They also cost a lot and often are not really very good.

Who could you get lessons from? The oboe really is not a teach yourself instrument, I failed to be able to teach myself. You need a good oboe player as a teacher if you want to play it.
