For sharpening gouged blades!?!? Dear god!!!
Start with 1200 grit paper on a flat surface (glass or surface plate) and move to 2/0, 3/0 and 4/0 jewelry sandpaper. Most regular stones are much to course to give you the fine kind of edge you need for a gouging machine.
