Re: Rosewood English horn?

I own a very old, second hand rosewood cor, and I love it, but actually, I do find it's quite a quiet instrument. That could be down to the age of the instrument, the reeds I use or my support being inadequate -- I'm really not very experienced as a cor player -- but I've also had people remark to me that rosewood instruments are generally quiet.
