Just thought I'd mention this as I only found out about this relatively recently. Some libraries around the world are part of the WorldCat catalogue. For example, my university is part of it. So when my search on IMSLP, the Classical Scores Library, online or the local music library is fruitless, I can try to find the piece on WorldCat (through my university). I've found a ton of esoteric pieces and cool thing is that as a university student, my library will actually borrow and ship the thing here for free. I think non-university patrons get charged a small fee. So I've gotten scores from Canada, US and Europe. I wish I knew this earlier on in my studies when I could've made use of many good research materials (not just music).
