I finally went and had my first ever oboe lesson last week. Better late than never, right? Thanks in most part to the advice from this board it went very well.
The advice received from this board was very sound in regards to oboe selection, embouchure, breath support, practicing long tones, you name it. However, there is only so much a person can learn from a book or the internet. Like saying the name Barrett for one thing. Haha.
So I would like to thank everyone that offered little bits of valuable information over the past six months or so. It all worked out well and my teacher was actually impressed.
