Oh reed adjustment! Some terms just don't quite make sense.
Can readers here help define these words?
Chirpy
Shrill (have a good idea what that is)
Wonky
There are others, those are just at the top of my list right now.

A chirp is an extra "squeak - high pitched noise" in the tip of the reed.
It usually occurs when the tip is not balanced and/or evenly scraped or too much has been taken out between the tips tip and heart.
A shrill reed is one with no resonance and depth to the sound. It tone is thin and unpleasant. This usually occurs when a red is overly scraped and the entire balance of the reed is off; and maybe with a tip that is too long for the rest of the reed. It should not be confused with a light -airy sweet sounding reed which has resonance and a core sound.
As for as a "Wonky" is concerned! I can only guess ...... a reed that does not behave at all. Poor pitch stability, in flexibile and probably all over the place ... unless you mean "Honky" like a duck; then it is a reed with no finess and a ruckus unrefined tone.
That's my two cents ..... Overs may have a slightly different take on things.

Looked up "wonky" for you. Apparently it is a British word. Here's the definition: "unsteady, shaky".

"Wonky" is what I get usually with a reed that is some combination of too short or too much out of the back. It is resonant, but wild with hard to control intonnation/octaves that you've got to really work at to keep in tune. Unstable notes will wobble w greater air speed (e.g. middle F#)

Wow fast responses and good definitions. Now that I think my reeds are a combination of all three - chirpy, wonky and shrill, I may be able to do something about it. Have a great evening.

chirpy: it sounds like a bird with a sore throat.
shrill: it sounds like something that is NOT music, nor gets even close.
wonky: the pitch is not stable; probably other little quirks are present; you just can't make the thing Co-Operate with your playing.
