In my estimation, I doubt the US seller posting an Australia listing only was an honest mistake. RED FLAGS beyond counting I surmise.
I just a couple of days ago saw a listing for a set of Loree oboe and English horn on "the auction site" for the UK. Both were from the 1930s, having sax fingerings.
This set had been legitimately sold about a year ago by a US seller to a US buyer
for just less than $7000. So, the UK "seller" simply lifted the URL/HTML
for the previous auction and posted it as his own. The "seller" has no history of
selling anything, only buying.
If you have the SLIGHTEST suspicion or inkling that a listing is fake,
NEVER proceed. And always check the seller's feedback as a SELLER.
Has he/she sold high value instruments previously?
I am always glad to offer a second opinion, second set of eyes to anyone who may have questions about s specific listing.
