The Puchner oboes were displayed at IDRS 2011.
Re-designed circa 2008, the Puchner oboe can easily compare to favorably
(in my estimation) to the "best of the best" in the realm of new oboes.
Unlike the Puchner English horn though, the keywork of the Puchner oboe may seem (feel) somewhat odd [different] to players accustomed to the traditional French style key patterns. However, I do not think it would be too difficult for a [say] a Loree player to become comfortable with the ergonomics of the Puchner oboe. In the realm of Puchner oboes, I would advise looking for an instrument made in 2008 or newer.

Cheers,
Peter
