My wife and I will be heading out to Tempe tomorrow morning. I am hoping to meet you all out there, and I’m looking forward to hearing Cooper play – I believe it’s at the Woodhams master class on Thursday – is that correct? And Peter, I hope I can finally get to meet you in person – I really enjoyed our discussions and appreciated your help enormously back when I was purchasing my first oboe.
I have just spoken to my former teacher, Ron Fox (San Diego), and it appears that he will be going as well, and that there’s an outside chance that he will be putting on a presentation about an acrylic (?) oboe that he at one time designed and built using some pretty sophisticated design algorithms. It’s a remarkable feat and a fascinating story, and I hope he gets to tell it.
